All About You
Navia Lab invites applications for a postdoctoral position to join our vibrant research group dedicated to unraveling the complexities of chronic pain development and differential susceptibility.
Navia Lab is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where every member feels valued and contributes to our collective success. Our research focuses on understanding the intricate mechanisms underlying chronic pain, with an emphasis on neuro-immune interactions, metabolism, and gene regulation. We strive to identify novel targets for the development of safe and effective treatments for chronic pain, aiming to make a tangible impact on patient care and well-being.
Responsibilities:
  • Mentor graduate students, providing guidance and support in their research endeavors.
  • Propose and develop research projects, design experiments, and formulate hypotheses to address key questions in chronic pain.
Perform experiments and analyze data, employing techniques including animal handling, breeding, tissue collection, imaging, molecular biology assays, and bioinformatics analysis.
  • Collaborate with colleagues both inside and outside the lab, fostering interdisciplinary partnerships to advance research goals.
  • Participate in research communication opportunities, such as presenting findings at conferences and congresses, and contributing to manuscript preparation for publication in scientific journals.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: neuroscience and pain study in animals, gene regulation mechanisms, biochemistry, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in wide laboratory techniques including animal work, cell culture tissue, cloning, and bichomical and molecular biology assays.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and generate novel insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
