Summary:
The Fellow will be involved in research in the Section of Community Health in the Department of Preventive Medicine by contributing to scientific papers and presentations, conducting statistical analyses and literature reviews for research studies. The focus of the work in the Section is Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) Studies to develop interventions to address health equity, especially among African Americans. The Fellow would be working to support research partnering with the Alive Faith Network, which is a partnership among Rush community health researchers and a group of African American church pastors to design and conduct research to address health disparities in Chicago. Other opportunities include helping to develop the research arm of the new Rush BMO Institute for Health Equity, and participating in the Chicago Covid Collaborative CEAL Program with UIC and other Chicago institutions, as well as the Institute for Translational Medicine, led by Rush University and University of Chicago. This position would provide extensive experience conducting behavioral randomized controlled trials in partnership with community leaders and in collaboration with multiple institutions throughout the city. Applicants should have a strong interest in using a CBPR methodology to address health equity. Responsibilities:
- Participate in research design, data analysis and grant and manuscript preparation.
- Attend research team meetings as appropriate
- Attend training seminars and scientific presentations
