Pos/Budtender Lead Recreational Cannabis Dispensary

Job Summary

The POS Lead is a key player in ensuring the store operates in compliance with the State of New Jersey regulations. The POS Lead should be a positive representative of Castaways commitment to serve our community and is passionate about creating a positive retail cannabis experience for all who come to our store. This includes facilitating a smooth and efficient customer experience and the effective shift management of the POS Sales team to deliver on that experience. The POS Lead is responsible for ensuring the timely execution of all retail sales transactions in accordance with Castaway standard operating procedures and working with management to provide the necessary accountability and shift oversight of the POS team.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is responsible for daily shift supervision of all onsite POS personnel to include but not be limited to accurate retail sales transactions, shift side work delegation, shift feedback as needed in order to ensure adherence to Castaway guest service standards.The POS Lead will manage the daily roster which includes timely execution of all breaks and accurate shift timekeeping as well as managing to ensure all POS daily opening and close out procedures and accounting standards are met.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Be a role model of great service and maintain a professional, upbeat, friendly and cheerful attitude.
• Work with POS team to ensure great care and concern with every guest.
• Work with manager on duty (GM/AGM) and follow his/her direction and procedure on all guest needs.
• Work with AGM/GM to troubleshoot and resolve any customer service issues or product issues to optimum guest satisfaction.
• Follow all monetary transaction procedures and be accountable for a daily
• register drawer reconciliation and debit card batch-out.
• Maintain a sanitary work area at all times and manage POS team to effectively complete the daily shift side work.
• Assure daily compliance with store policies including but not limited to; state/local regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, dress codes and work schedules and core floor conduct.
• Work with store leadership to ensure all online menu content is always kept up to date.
• Prepare daily deposit as needed and perform it accurately.
• Ensure timely shift communication and feedback daily via Homebase and the managers log.
• Provide team member feedback to Store Leadership as needed.
• Adheres to all security protocol and reports all suspicious activity immediately to GM/AGM.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent communication skills both orally and written.
• Ability to multi-task with effective time-management skills.
• Performs well under pressure with a sense of urgency and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be no less than 21 years of age.
• Must pass a criminal background check as required by the CRC and with no felony convictions.
• Strong knowledge of various strains, genetics, active ingredient profiles including but not limited to THC and CBD and all relevant terminology.
• Understand the different delivery systems and their impact on the user.
• Ability to pass METRC certification and all applicable training required by Castaway and the State of New Jersey.

Education and Experience

• High School degree
• Two years of supervisory experience, preferably in cannabis, retail or restaurant industry
• Previous experience in the cannabis industry preferred
• Has previously worked in a regulated industry a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 20lbs minimum and be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Role may require regular weekend and evening shifts.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $18.00/hour.
