Summary

The Pool and Water Feature Technician is responsible for continuous maintenance of all aspects pertaining the pool, spa, pond, and fountain upkeep and care.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintains and repairs pools, spas, and Water Features throughout the resort and casino.
  • Determines chlorine content, PH value, and color of pool water at periodic intervals using commercial testing equipment.
  • Completes forms indicating time, date and pool water testing results.
  • Communicates diagnostic problems and scheduling difficulties with management.
  • Operates, troubleshoots and repairs disinfectant chemical delivery systems; resolves equipment malfunctions in a safe and timely manner.
  • Vacuums pools, ponds and spas, cleans tile, metal parts and decks.
  • Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the position.
  • Must be physically present to work on a regular, reliable and predictable work schedule in accordance with business demands, and maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as required.

  • Participate in open communication and provide feedback to management regarding operations, staffing, personal development, and operational productivity.
  • Serve as a contributing Team Member of the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians enhancing the Casino’s operations in all its business endeavors.

Education / Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in pool and Water Feature maintenance.
  • CPO, CPT or AFO certified or the ability to be certified within 90 days of employment.
  • Competency in the use of test kits to determine pH, disinfectant residual, cyanuric acid concentration, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, and acid demand of pool, spa, and pond water.
  • Carry out assigned tasks and make timely decisions.
  • Must be able to work in conjunction with casino employees.
  • Ability to operate a variety of repair equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Any combination of education beyond the minimum requirement as well as any experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary will be considered
  • Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.

Certificates, licenses and registration

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
  • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
