Job Overview:
FirstService Residential is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated people to join the Pool Attendant Team at Sunfield Homeowners Association in Buda, TX.! We are looking for staff to run the day-to-day operations of the various aquatics facilities (Lazy River, Lap Pool and Splash Pad). These are not Lifeguard positions, although lifeguards are welcome to apply.
Your Responsibilities:
- Communicates with the pool patrons, answers questions about the aquatic facilities, explains and enforces rules and regulations, and identifies potentially dangerous behaviors.
- Responds to minor emergencies. Major emergencies are to be escalated to the Pool Manager or to Hays County EMS.
- Display professionalism with pool patrons and staff.
- Assists pool patrons with entrance into the facility, check member and guest passes, and inspects large bags or coolers for glass or other contraband items
- Attend all required meetings, training, and in-services as directed by the Pool Manager or FirstService Residential.
- Follow all pool rules and regulations provided in the personnel policy or training.
- Cleans the pool and related facilities and equipment throughout the day to ensure optimal cleanliness, especially during peak hours of operation. This includes but is not limited to; brushing, vacuuming, emptying skimmers and strainer baskets, netting and cleaning of pool, emptying of garbage containers, cleaning the pool deck, cleaning chairs and tables as needed, minor repairs, installations or removal of features, equipment, and signage.
- Responsible for evacuating all patrons out of the facility safely during bad weather conditions.
- Conducts routine tests such as chemical levels; Keeps a log of test results and attends related training sessions as necessary.
- Keeping head count and allowing no extra entry if we are at max occupancy.
- Maintains desired working relationship with Pool Manager and FirstService Residential staff
- Performs all other duties as duly assigned by the Pool Manager or FirstService Residential General Manager.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Previous Pool or Aquatics experience preferred, BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Preference is given to applicants available for the entire summer season, from early May through late October.
- Both Full-time and Part-time positions are available.
- Work hours include days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for program operation.
Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements include working outdoors in heat, humidity and wind. Exposed to chlorine, muriatic acid and other pool chemicals. Navigates slippery surfaces; exposed to noise from crowds, whistles and pump room. Subject to standing, sitting, vision, hearing, talking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, climbing, balancing, handling, foot controls, fine dexterity. Lift over 30lbs rarely.
Compensation: $17 / hour

Requirements:- Responsible for overseeing Amenity Center and/or Pool Facility.
- Provide excellent customer service:
o Greets all residents and guests and answers questions in a polite and courteous manner. If Ambassador is scheduled for a pool shift, they will also be responsible for signing in residents on appropriate form.
o Ensures reservation process is smooth and those who have made reservations are able to use the facility as promised without negatively impacting other owners.
o If approved by the association, ambassador will hand out swim diapers during pool shifts.
- Responsible for Access & Control of Amenity Center and/or Pool Facility:
o Enforces guest restrictions held by the association.
o Enforces Amenity Center rules and pool rules such as guest policies and alcohol use, as directed by supervisor.
- Responsible for ensuring a safe environment for staff, residents, and guests:
o As appropriate, provides guidance to Amenity Center and pool users in order to help prevent accidents and ensure that safety regulations are being followed.
o Cautions people behaving in an unsafe manner.
o Places signs or barriers to warn of dangerous conditions or areas and makes sure users are aware of potential dangers.
o Places appropriate signage for weather and fecal closures.
o Maintains awareness of any suspicious behavior in and around the amenity center and reports any concerns to emergency services and supervisor as appropriate.
o Attends to lost children. Notifies parents, site supervisor, or emergency services of any children left unattended.
o Coordinates the closure of the Amenity Center and/or pool facility with supervisor in the event of an emergency or inclement weather.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment and aesthetics of the Amenity Center and/or Pool Facility:
o Checks to make sure restrooms are clean and ready for the correct volume of guests and reports any issues to supervisor.
o Keeps amenities area clean, neat, and orderly, including wiping down restrooms, taking out trash, straightening chairs, checking skimmer baskets, etc. Wipes down all surfaces within rented space of amenity center and/or deck and maintains cleanliness.
o Ensures that parking lot and surrounding areas are kept free of debris and litter.
o For pool shifts, cleans and maintains pool and pool deck throughout shift, including leaf removal.
o For pool shifts, tests pool chemistry as needed during and records results. Does not handle or add chemicals at any time.
o Reports fecal contaminations to supervisor and assists with monitoring of the facility until pool service arrives to shut down facility.
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining daily reporting for amenity center and/or pool facility:
o Completes a Daily Activity Report (DAR) for every shift worked and provides same to supervisor (via email, mail or hand delivery) within 12 hours of shift.
o Completes and submits an incident report to address any issue where a patron was removed for safety or behavior issues or where police were called to the property.

- High School diploma or equivalent required together with 1-2 years of experience in customer service, parks/recreation services, or aquatics.
- Ability to read, write and effectively communicate.

- CPR and/or first-aid certification preferred.
