Pool Manager/Head Lifeguard

Position Summary: This position entails managing a team of lifeguards, scheduling of employees, overseeing and coordinating a swim lesson program, overseeing, and coordinating a youth swim team including practices and meets, overseeing the daily operations of the pool and overseeing the pool maintenance. This position required excellent communication with members’ children and parents as well.

Must be a certified lifeguard and first aid to be considered. Strong swimming skills and knowledge of water safety procedures. Overseeing all pool personnel and pool activities. This position also serves as the Head Swim coach for all swim lessons and works closely with the Swim Team coach to coordinate all swim meets.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee and supervise the lifeguard team to ensure the safety of all pool guests.

Will be teaching all swim lessons for different group ages and skills.

Supervise all lifeguard activities, coordinate, and schedule lifeguard shifts to ensure adequate coverage, responsible for the hiring and on-boarding procedures, provide necessary orientation and training, maintain the lifeguard house clean and safe, keep track of the clock-in and out of all pool employees.

Complete and inform the Club of any emergency responses and rescue and complete incident report accordingly.

Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.

Conduct regular inspections of the pool area to identify any hazards or maintenance needs. Assist with pool maintenance tasks such as cleaning, chemical testing, and equipment checks.

Keep track of sign in all members at the pool and charge for all guests and lessons accordingly.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Must be certified lifeguard and certified in first aid and lifesaving courses.

CPR and First Aid certification required.

Strong swimming skills and knowledge of water safety procedures.

Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as needed.

Good communication and people skills required. Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in related positions and managing employees.
