Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for an Associate Scientist II at its Pollinator Lab in Alachua, FL near Gainesville.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for laboratory and office work supporting studies conducted under GLP guidelines.
Responsible for all aspects of data collection and review.
Monitor study procedures to ensure data accuracy and report quality.
As part of a scientific team, performs simple and complex experiments and procedures in accordance with all applicable regulatory (e.g. DEA, EPA, FDA, FIFRA, OECD, etc.) requirements as defined by protocol, method, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Maintain a high level of interaction with team members, including those from other business units within Eurofins (chemistry, quality assurance, client services), as well as external clients or vendors.
Participate in the preparation of written data summaries and reports including test methods, results and interpretation of findings.
The ideal candidate would possess:
Experience handling honey bees, and familiarity with basic honey bee biology.
Experience with scientific principles of laboratory-based testing. Familiarity with OECD guidelines 213, 214, 237 and 245, or equivalent, is preferred.
Familiar with basic principles of general and organic chemistry.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook is strongly preferred.
A working knowledge of GLP guidelines is preferred.
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major).
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Must be willing to relocate to Alachua, FL area.
Position is temporary with full-time hours, Monday-Friday, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Easton, MD are encouraged to apply.
