We are actively recruiting for a Policing Supervisor (Outdoor Custodian). This position is a working Policing Supervisor that oversees a crew of supported policing workers. Responsible for the workers’ safety and training program and assigned commercial policing contracts (Policing is ‘outdoors custodial,’ i.e. litter pick-up, trash can liner replacement, sweeping, cleaning benches, glass, etc.).

What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for ensuring that the supported worker’s rights and dignity are protected, and that they have maximum opportunities to fully participate as a member of the landscape/policing department.
- Submit manifests and timecards daily to the manager and other documentation as required.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individual plans for assigned workers and maintain pertinent documentation.
- Take responsibility for the professional maintenance of assigned contracts, ensuring contract requirements are completed within allotted time.
- As a working supervisor, demonstrate the techniques used in policing work, and set the pace for the workers.
- Maintain assigned vehicle, reporting problems or damage immediately. Complete vehicle maintenance records as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma /GED required.
- Some related maintenance experience required (i.e. custodial landscape).
- Experience with individuals with disabilities helpful.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, push, pull, and carry a variety of tools, equipment, and supplies. Requires good physical coordination and stamina.
- Valid Maryland driver’s license. Must meet agency’s requirements for approved MVA record. Clean driving record necessary.
- Must be able to drive a large crew-cab pick-up truck.
- All work is outdoors year-round. Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Work locations are often in dangerous locations including parking lots, roadways, and various rail systems.
- Will be required to work evenings, weekends or holidays as required by work schedule, (including snow removal), or training.
