The City of Lake Forest is seeking an experienced office professional with strong technical and administrative skills to join our team as a full-time non-union Police Records Clerk for the Police Department.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of court procedures, excellent customer service skills, and the willingness to receive, handle and complete confidential submissions. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience in law enforcement record systems, such as NIBRS, court reporting, and manage data with honesty and integrity.
Full Salary Range: $55,724-$79,133 Annual Progression Expected
Work Hours: (4) Ten-hour days a week, with rotating Saturdays

- Performs data entry, filing, and accounting for all reports
- Processes Freedom of Information Requests for department records and release information in accordance with FOIA guidelines and department policies
- Provides responsive, courteous, and efficient service to the residents and the public
- Supplies assistance and information to the Police Department and City Staff
- Performs prisoner searches as needed
- Associate degree preferred; experience in Police Records clerks or similar clerical experience can be in lieu of educational requirements
- Highly skilled in customer service and have strong interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organizational and technical skills required
- Experience with law enforcement records systems and knowledge of NIBRS is desired but not required
- Must be able to become LEADS certified
