The purpose of this position is to support the Public Information Officer (PIO) and disseminate information to the public and employees. This position will assist in improving police-community relations through engagement with internal and external stakeholders and will perform a variety of supportive duties that serve to enhance the Peoria Police Department’s relationship with the community. This is accomplished by assisting in police related marketing and outreach programs; managing and monitoring Peoria Police Department social media channels under the direction of the Public Information Officer; and supporting the development and implementation of public safety programs. Other duties include assisting with graphic design materials development, writing and other duties, as assigned.

Other Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School, plus additional course work (equivalent to up to 1 years at a Community College or equivalent, resulting in an accumulation of similar knowledge and abilities).
- Experience: 1-2 years’ experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a municipal or government setting.
- Experience in providing community presentations and instructing courses.
- Considerable experience in all aspects of video production, broadcast, mobile and web techniques.
