Job Summary and QualificationsThe Point of Care Coordinator provides supervision, training and competency assessment to Point of Care Staff, and lab staff maintaining quality standards and procedures in order to meet all regulatory agency requirements. Reviews all test procedures in an accurate and timely manner. Participates in QA and QC activities. Assists in the evaluation of new POC and Lab testing instruments/kits and correlations and validations as needed.
* You advise/mentor staff and provide guidance.
* You perform complex laboratory procedures; recognize deviation from expected results; analyze and correct problems.
* You verify handwritten name on test specimen with patient label and type of test to be performed as indicated on the computer-generated label.
* You perform instrument QC as required and adhere to established quality control policies and accurately troubleshoots when quality control is unacceptable.
* You will evaluate and make sure test results correlate with diagnosis and each other and understands age specific normal values.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology/ Medical Laboratory Science; MT/MLS (ASCP) eligible or equivalent for Technologist.
* At least four years’ experience in clinical lab.
