We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction for both public and private clients, with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.
We are looking to hire several Plumbing Apprentice/Helpers to join our self-perform team for ongoing work on Camp Lejeune, NC. As an Apprentice at RQ, you will get the unique opportunity to advance your career by learning the Plumbing trade, while working alongside Journeyman Plumbers. You will participate in both classroom, and on the job training to ultimately have a long-term career as a Journeyman plumber.
All work is to be performed on the military base and is paid the required Davis-Bacon prevailing wage, specific to the Camp Lejeune, NC military base. Enrollment into the Apprenticeship program is required for this position.
During the program, Apprentice/Helper's will be responsible for assisting Journeyman and Foreman level plumbers with fabrication and installation of plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment on an active construction site, ensuring that work is done in accordance with relevant codes. Work involves technical application of mechanical principles. This is all to be done using the appropriate equipment and implementing the required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. Requirements for this position include:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is the minimal education required for this position.
- Three or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work with plumbing systems in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting is preferred; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred.
- Courses in construction, or plumbing preferred.
- Experience with cast-iron drainage systems
