The Plumbing Apprentice will complete jobs on time and within budget, helping to achieve the company’s financial goals. The Plumbing Apprentice will carry and maintain his/her plumber license per State law.
Responsibilities:
- Continuously provide the customer with the highest levels of customer service.
- Tests for gas leaks in existing or new installations.
- Provide emergency repairs to leaking, loose, clogged, or plumbing components in disrepair.
- Duties to include, but not limited to, all types of plumbing repairs, minor steam line repairs and re-routing, natural gas pipe repairs and re-routing, storm and sewage line maintenance and repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Perform plumbing repairs and plumbing upgrades that include sinks, faucets, radiator valves, and traps, toilets, bathtubs, drain lines, water supply lines, and natural gas line risers.
- Installs and maintains appliances such as hot water heaters, pumps, sump, and sewage pumps and ejectors.
- Requisitions materials and supplies using in-house procedures as needed.
- Lays out, installs, repairs, or maintains pipelines for water, gas, or compressed air.
- Must be able to cycle count inventory upon procurement’s request.
- Maintain expected productivity, quality and safety metrics as outlined by the PHS Field Operations Department
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience on plumbing license.
- Valid driver's license.
- High School, GED, must continue education of Plumbing through classes the company requests attendance.
- Hold a current Apprentices License for applicable state.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Job may include, but not limited to:
- Climbing, Extreme Hot or Cold (out of doors), Heavy Lifting, Loud Noise, Use of ladders to get to equipment, going into crawl spaces and attics to locate and access piping.
- Safety awareness, overhead hazards, equipment operations, wearing PPE as required.
- Must be able to reach, bend extend and lift 100+ lbs.
- Must not be afraid of heights.
