Jax Mechanical boiler, Water Heating, and Plumbing Specialist is a family-owned business based in Oceanside specializing in boiler, and water heating systems and we are proud to announce we are opening a new plumbing division and looking for the right candidate with the ambition to join the team and to help propel this position and division to its highest potential with great opportunity for growth within a quickly growing company.

Responsibilities, Requirements, and Preferences.

Hot water and Steam boiler experience are highly preferred.

The ability to know your way around and identify the systems of a boiler system ( Domestic, and hydronic) is highly preferred.

HVAC experience is a plus

A great understanding of plumbing materials, fittings, tools, equipment, and the purpose of operations.

Valid drivers license

Ability to work long hours frequently

ability to drive long distances for/ between projects

ability to work on call at times ( including weekends) from time to time.

2-5 years minimum plumbing/ water heating, and Boiler experience. ( preferred )

Ability to gauge a project from the beginning stages until completion with minimal to no supervision.

Ability to identify issues on calls and make proper recommendations for a solution

Ability to gather a thorough materials list for a job to be quoted, gather adequate materials for project completion, and execute and complete projects from beginning to end without supervision.

ability to troubleshoot issues and find the proper solutions

Boiler, water heater, and steam equipment installation, repair, and service preferred. ( including tankless water heaters)

Highly experienced with hand and power tools and plumbing equipment.

Understanding and ability to perform and complete tasks of all aspects of plumbing service, repair, and installation of commercial and residential applications

Perform complete re-pipes

(Clogged drains, pipe repairs, garbage disposals, toiler replacements, and repairs, Water mains, sewer mains.)

Ability to operate a pipe machine roll groover and threader preferred.

Experience with residential and commercial plumbing service, repair, and installation is highly preferred.

Ability to fill out paperwork thoroughly and efficiently.

As the position will require our boiler and plumbing side to cross over from time to time the ability to be a student and a teacher is highly preferred.

Ability to communicate in a professional manner with the Jax Mechanical team and the customers.

Ability to read Site plans, blueprints, installation manuals, and wire diagrams, preferred.

Ability to work well under pressure safely and efficiently.

Ability to travel from time to time for training.

Ability to travel for projects for several days at a time ( rarely )

Welding experience is a plus

Ability to solder/ braze pipe

knowledge of using propress tools and fittings.

Completion of a 1-2-year apprenticeship is highly preferred.

Understanding of the local plumbing and mechanical codes is highly preferred.
