To perform Journeyman level skills in the installation, maintenance, remodeling, repair and servicing of plumbing systems and utilities in a mechanical utility distribution system. Responsible for the prompt performance of assigned plumbing and related duties and mechanical maintenance and repair of utility mains. Frequently responsible for supervision of semi-skilled or unskilled workers.

Working conditions are considered acceptable, but occasionally involve exposure to one or more disagreeable elements such as biohazards, toxic lab chemicals, poisonous gases dust, dirt, and the need to work in confined spaces or outside in all weather conditions.

Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
