POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Plugging Manager coordinates the plugging and abandonment program supervising assigned Rig Foremen and managing and scheduling rig, cement, wireline, trucking, and construction equipment and personnel over multiple job sites.
Special focus will be placed on:
  • Supervise daily plugging rig activities ensuring procedures are followed.
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding field progress, issues, and delays. Track and report cost and spending updates. Coordinate with management to address and monitor any personnel issues.
  • Regularly communicate with field employees to obtain rig and job site updates and to provide guidance and direction. Relay and ensure all expectations regarding safety, performance, job site, maintenance, efficiency, etc. are upheld.
  • Conduct pre-site inspections to assess road and pad conditions and obtain well pressures and casing sizes.
  • Regularly visit job sites and field employees to ensure all operations are running in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Monitor and ensure safe working conditions of the worksite including ensuring all employees on the job site are properly utilizing FR and PPE. Conduct meetings over safety topics provided by the EHS team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all near misses, workplace injuries, accidents, or illness, regardless of the severity of the injury or accident.
  • Oversee location and road construction/reclamation. Confirm cement calculations, displacement, and mud kill weights as needed.
  • Coordinate and oversee rig mobilization.
  • Coordinate rig, cement, wireline, trucking, and construction services across assigned footprint.
  • Conduct frequent inspections of the rig, pump equipment, wireline, and location, identifying issues regarding safe and efficient operations of the rig, and makes timely recommendations to rectify any noted problems.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues, perform worn equipment recognition checks, and submit maintenance requests for repair or replacement of equipment as needed.
  • Oversee compliance with all state regulations and company policies, including EH&S.
  • Complete daily reports to be submitted in-house and to local state agencies.
  • Review time worked and PTO requests for direct reports.
  • Check emails daily and comply with email requests as they are assigned.
  • Perform any other related duties as requested or assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in plugging operations preferred
  • 2 years’ experience running service rigs preferred
  • Experience with downhole fishing, milling, drilling, etc.
  • Experience with general maintenance on service rig, pumping equipment, and all other equipment
  • Willingness to travel on a frequent basis
  • Knowledge with H2S Gas
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills/proficiency
  • Class A/B CDL is a plus
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • The individual must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, FR clothing, respirators, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
  • Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another
  • Visually seeing driving operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
  • Standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and sitting
  • Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms wrists, hands and back in performance of work
  • Lifting 50lb objects or more occasionally
  • Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to sometimes adverse weather conditions
