Pace Life Sciences, Oakdale, is currently looking for a Chemist/Scientist I for their Extractables/Leachables Trace Impurities department.
The ideal candidate would have GMP and GDP experience with knowledge and skills in ICP-MS, OES Analysis, and other analytical techniques.

Roles and responsibilities
- Provides intermediate to complex analysis, interpretation, and documentation in support of various testing materials, products, and/or devices utilizing various analytical instrumentation; follows Standard Operating Procedures and methods to perform testing.
- Overseeing, reviewing, completing, and processing various chemistry/biochemistry forms, documents, databases, and related materials and information.
- Provides various research, feedback, and decisions to resolve management and employee questions and requirements; assists with receiving customer feedback and coordinating resources and responses as required.
- Analyzes and reviews intermediate to complex operations, results, feedback, and related chemistry/biochemistry information on an ongoing to as-needed basis to determine trends, draw conclusions, interpret findings, and present results, proposals, and recommendations to management.
- Ensures the accuracy of various tests, equipment, actions, procedures and operational databases, reports, and related details through audits, queries, and operational reviews; works with teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Assists with developing or participating in chemistry/biochemistry or cross-functional project or program objectives, including proposed budgets, timelines, materials, personnel, and other project requirements; receives direction and presents information to management.
- Understanding of various testing tools, equipment, and calibration.
- Using tact, discretion, and prudence in working with those contacted in the course of the work.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in chemistry/biochemistry, biology; AND two to three
Required Knowledge and Skills
- GDP and cGMP laboratory experience
- Experience with ICP and/or related sample preparation techniques
- Experience with techniques related to quantitative analysis for organics
- Ability to follow complex analytical preparation procedures.
- Ability to recognize and/or resolve problems collaboratively
- Ability to manage multiple tasks (good organization skills)
- Good communication skills
- Good Documentation skills
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mobility to work in a lab and office setting, use standard office and lab equipment and stamina to sit for extended periods of time; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in lab, office, and field settings. Work is subject to exposure to blood or bodily fluids, chemicals, fumes, gasses, noxious odors, and related items in a lab and environmental setting. Work can also be subject to travel.
