Position Overview: As an Automation Technician you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated and electrical systems and equipment that enhance our operational efficiency and product quality. You will collaborate closely with engineers, programmers, and production teams to ensure the seamless integration of automation solutions into our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation System Design: Work with the engineering team to design automation solutions, including specifying hardware, selecting components, and designing control systems.
Programming and Configuration: Develop, modify, and maintain automation programs and scripts for PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMI (Human-Machine Interface), and other control systems.
Installation and Integration: Install, assemble, and configure automation equipment, ensuring proper integration into existing production systems.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct testing and debugging of automation systems to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring optimal system performance.
Preventive Maintenance: Establish and execute preventive maintenance schedules for automation systems to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of automation system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
Training: Train production personnel on the proper operation and maintenance of automated equipment and systems.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation enhancements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all automation systems meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Automation Technician or similar role.
- Proficiency in PLC editing/programming/troubleshooting and HMI development.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with automation hardware and software (e.g., sensors, actuators, SCADA).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in automation or control systems.
- Experience with robotic systems and programming.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
