Perform duties required to process customer parts in automated zinc electroPlating Line and supervise helpers required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load electroplating barrels using hydraulic dumping equipment or manually with the appropriate weight to obtain adequate plating coverage per shop order.
- Perform in-processing inspection to determine plating quality and conformance to specifications for both bath contents and plating thickness.
- Notify Chemical Processing technician when abnormal appearance of parts or chemical baths are identified.
- Remove customer parts from the barrels place in the dryer system. Make sure dryer chutes and baskets are free of parts.
- Operate baking equipment for hydrogen relief of parts as required by the specifications and/or as stated on the shop order.
- Document production downtime and chemical additions as required by the Divisional Quality Control Manual.
- Supervise and train helpers in plating operation and related activities.
- Store, retrieve, and replace chemical containers using forklift, hand trucks, or manual means.
- Clean plating tanks to remove contaminants and/or buildup.
- Perform zinc ball addition and minor line maintenance as scheduled.
- Communicate any abnormalities to Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Department, Production Manager, etc.
Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, this includes THC.
Experience:
- On-the-job training is required for this position.
- Machine Operating experience in a similar environment.
- Must be available for all shifts.
License(s)/Certification(s) Required:
- Must be able to obtain a forklift certification.
