SUMMARY

The Process Plating lead is expected to perform a variety of plating processes related tasks: process set up, process verification and validation, product verification and plating process performance validation, disposition of the nonconforming product through immediate corrective actions.  The process plating lead is also responsible for his team compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

.

         Assist and performs process set up for all plating operations including, but not limited to: wash de/oil, Ann Ro clean, cadmium plating, nickel plating, hot salt clean, anodizing and anodizing preparation, etc

         Perform plating processes' verification in order to validate that the plating process set up meets the work instruction requirements, safety and quality standards.

         Performs plating operations in support to production also assisting engineering in developing new products or improving the existing processes

         Reads, understands and uses technical documents, including, but not limited to, blueprints, work instructions, job routers, etc. to ensure that parts conform to all applicable requirements.

         Able to operate all plating equipment, including the plating verification equipment.  Troubleshoots problems and determines action to be taken.

         Assist the chemistry laboratory technicians with tank additions, tank make ups, etc.

         Operates electric or manual pumps in the removal of chemicals or for tank chemistry make up

         Required to observe all safety rules including, wearing of safety equipment for the handling and usage of chemicals.

         Verify the operators and each tank in the line for proper set up in regard to tank maintenance, tank replenishing schedule, tank bail out, tank dumping schedule, etc.

         Monitor the proper set up for the tanks' drainage schedule in order to avoid overloading / over flooding / overwhelming the waste water system

         Perform other duties within required company and/or industry standards, specifications and policies.

         Ensures verification upon product quality according to company and/or industry standards and practices.

         Monitors all equipment in the department for proper usage and for operator's periodic maintenance and depending on the repair needed, corrects the problem or reports to the Supervisor any equipment in need of repair.

         Monitor proper plating material storage and proper plating materials usage, for safety and productivity; perform daily verification upon stock / inventory; inform the supervisor upon inventory status

         Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

         Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required

         May lead and/or team over others in similar jobs and/or provide work leadership and direction.

         Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.

         Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements and safe operating procedures at all times.

         Responsible for handling all chemicals and materials in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.

         Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management's attention immediately.

         Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.

         Required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times when within the PPE designated areas.

         Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related the department and job functions such as recycling opportunities and elimination of waste

         Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education and/or Experience

                                          

         High School or Equivalent; equivalent combination of education and work experience is acceptable.

         Working experience of processing manufacturing procedures

         A minimum of 3 - 5 years industrial experience and/or training in related area desired.

         A minimum of 1 year lead experience desired.

        

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills                                               

Ability to add, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal. Ability to perform basic mathematic problems.

 

Reasoning Ability                                                  

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills                                                     

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Access and Computer assisted design (CAD) proficiency.
