Job description

Noble Company, a subsidiary of FPC International, Inc., is seeking a motivated, technically savvy and strong problem solver to join our team as a Plastics Processing Technician. In this crucial role, the incumbent will be responsible for the daily oversight of an extrusion line through monitoring, maintaining equipment logbooks, ensuring the area is clean and troubleshooting technical issues as they arise alongside the management and production team.

Shift: Typically, hours are Monday-Wednesday (12-hour days) & Thursday, (4-hour day). At times, on Thursdays may be mandatory. Occasional flexibility needed (may need to provide support on Fridays).

Career Growth: This position will be trained to learn the Machine Operator role with targeted growth into a Process Engineer. Training and on the job support is available in addition to management development as the role will have the opportunity to fill in for the production supervisor periodically.

Reports to: Plant Manager

Team Dynamics: Team consists of a General Manager, Plant Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering Manager, as well as the Office Staff, Operations and Maintenance teams.

Travel: Less than 10% if at all.

Certifications: None required.

PPE: Providedby the company. A generous safety shoe reimbursement is available.

The Ideal Candidate will have: Well-versed experience in industrial machines and mechanical processes, chemical or material. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail. Communication and collaboration is key. A top-class process technician can identify faults and suggest manufacturing improvements to increase production throughput.

What you’ll be doing:

· Operates, oversees and controls extrusion equipment to manufacture product in conjunction with the operations team on a daily basis.

· Identifies and monitors production machine parameters.

· Works independently and with a team to find solutions to issues.

· Monitors and tests product quality.

· Anticipates and addresses any potential issues to the manufacturing process. Ensures production process runs smoothly and efficiently.

· Identifies machine faults and process deviations.

· Maintains production reports and required documentation.

· Reports quality deviations and breakdowns to supervisors and production engineers.

· Maintains a clean and safe production area. Assists in working with all extrusion personnel to adhere to safety protocols.

· Identifies areas of production that can be improved or increased.

Background you’ll need:

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

· A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience working as a process technician with relevant plastic processes (Injection molding, extrusion, compounding, lab technician, performing & Interpreting)

· Experience performing Root Cause Analysis for the purposes of troubleshooting the process, materials, and equipment which may impact production.

· Desire to work independently and be able to make informed adjustments to equipment to ensure smooth operation, and ability to verify effectiveness of changes. process ‘reality studies’, Chemical Engineering, etc.)
