Requirements:
- Must have the ability to successfully organize, direct, and manage the activities and performance of others.
- Must be able to lift, reach and pull 55 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally & be able to stand for long (at least 8) hours.
- Must have strong computer, reading, writing, math, and communication skills, as well as advanced problem-solving skills.
- Must have minimum 24 months experience as a Technician Lead or Supervisor or equivalent experience, and at least 7 years of experience as a Process Technician or engineer.
- Must have advanced training and the ability to apply Scientific Molding practices. RJG Molder 1 & 2 preferred.
- Must be able to work on all shifts, as assigned and needed.
Essential Functions:
- Performs all functions and responsibilities of the Process Technician role, including but not limited to:
a) Set-up tooling and auxiliary equipment at machines. Ensures workstations have proper ergonomics and are safe, tidy and organized.
b) Performs machine starts, teardowns, and tool removal.
c) Perform minor machine maintenance (screw teardowns and cleaning, cleaning of the barrel, etc.).
d) Properly complete tool write-ups for mold repairs.
e) Monitor press, part quality and quantity. Troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments and prepare proper documentation. Investigate cause and effect. Document root cause and develop corrective action.
f) Communicate with appropriate staff and incoming/outgoing technicians regarding production information and/or issues.
g) Starts Pilot Orders as directed and follows up with complete documentation of run.
- Troubleshoots any auxiliary equipment (drill presses, cooling fixtures, milling fixtures, arbor presses, etc.).
- Perform preventative maintenance on molds, as assigned. Clean and perform preventive maintenance on assigned presses.
- Performs Scientific Molding studies and implements changes for improved results. Examples include window studies, gate freeze, Design of Experiments, and mold flow analysis.
- Establishes processes for existing products and may assist on new products.
- Reviews work cell layout for ergonomics, safety, and process optimizations. Makes improvements as appropriate.
- Participate in lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement. Tries to make processes and people better.
- Analyzes and assists employees in resolving work related conflicts.
- Conducts evaluations of employee’s performance and corrective action.
- Facilitates performance improvement through coaching and mentoring.
- Trains, coaches and mentors staff. Including, but not limited to: Scientific Molding, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting.
