The Plastic Tubing Line Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining Plastic Tubing production equipment. The operator will be responsible for ensuring that the production line runs smoothly and efficiently, and that the quality of the product meets the company's standards.
- Monitor operating parameters of the extruders.
- Make necessary adjustments to extruder, die, water, or vacuum on a production line to ensure the highest quality product attainable.
- Ensure cable is marked with proper print line as specified in quality manual.
- Ensure cable dimensions are within tolerance including wall thickness, outside diameter, length, and overall appearance.
- Inform Line Supervisor or lead operator of any changes in specification of cable.
- Perform SDR and size changes including the setup and changeover of production lines with PS or lead Line Operator.
- Stack and/or bundle finished products.
- Responsible for documenting all dimensions of product on Production reports in a neat, accurate and timely format.
- Properly setting up the extrusion head, checking the cooling baths, loading and checking the material hopper, loading the payoff and yarn servers with material, and maintaining a quality wind on the take-up.
- Perform regular inventory counts.
- Identify and eliminate decreases in the productivity of lines, malfunctions in the line operations, and excess consumption of materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized working environment free of unnecessary equipment and materials.
- Comply with, support, and promote all company’s safety policies.
- Assist in procuring relevant materials for production, such as, but not limited to, the construction of wooden reels and stripping wire/cable from used reels.
- Complete all tasks assigned by the lead AELO, PS, or PM.
- High school diploma or GED, with 2 years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably in wire and cable.
- Preferably 1-3 years of forklift operation experience.
- Basic literacy with computers and electronic devices; including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and various other digital formats and editing tools.
