- Responsible for the overall shift, personnel, documentation, quality & training of all new employees and training records with the quality department.
- Responsible for weekly timecards for all shift personnel.
- Ability to follow the production schedule, make sure proper pallets, labels, WIP parts are removed and stored in the proper location BEFORE bringing in new product during changeovers. Also includes the ability to change or deviate from the production schedule as orders may change
- Responsible for training the material handler to maintain and filling all color loaders to ensure no added scrap / lost parts are created during the shift.
- Responsible for helping the shift material handler relieve for breaks
- Responsible for making sure the cleaning and maintaining specific machines is being completed weekly.
- Responsible for making sure the cleaning of spilled material and color on the machine deck and or floor
- Responsible for inspecting & auditing every completed pallet to ensure the proper count, color, artwork labels, barcode labels, stacking pattern, production sheet is signed by operator, etc all match the production sheet BEFORE scanning the pallet into inventory, then placing the pallet in the proper location (FG warehouse or Packaging)
- Responsible for making sure all scrap data collection on the shift is collected
- Responsible to verify each piece of scrap is legitimate scrap and accounted for on the operator scrap collection data sheet
- Responsible for making sure all scrap on the scrap pallets (operators DO NOT put scrap on scrap pallets) and combining the scrap pallets as best as possible before the end of the shift. Material handler should move full scrap pallets to the scrap area in the warehouse
- Responsible to learn & teach the material handlers & technicians how to properly load artwork and barcode labels.
- Responsible for making sure what regrind we produce caught up. This includes breakdown of boxes and placed on the appropriate pallets or if soiled, placing them in the recycle box
- Responsible for making sure the garbage cans get emptied and recycled carboard on each shift (if necessary) is emptied
- Responsible for your material handlers& technicians to ensure all procedural documents are followed, cleaning & maintaining is being kept up, mold cleanings are being done, scheduling coverage for vacation (with the molding manager), keeping up with employees time cards on a weekly basis, etc
