Plastic Injection Mold Technician

Cole Instrument is seeking a Molding Technician for our Molding Department. Knowledge and experience with thermal set, Plastic Injection Molding, mold set-ups and inserts, and machine set-ups required. Blue Print reading experience, use of measuring tools and gauges is required knowledge. Comfortable with speaking, reading and writing English. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate plastic molding machines.
• Prepare plastic material for the specific part to be molded.
• Set-up and operate all molding machine in the department and be responsible for piece part quality.
• Keep accurate records of machine parameters as well as production work order records.Mold thermoplastic parts.
• Develop and document manufacturing instructions and data sheets.Grind scraps into powder.
• Read specifications to determine setup and prescribed temperature and time settings.
• Remove cured product from mold.
• Inspect products for surface defects and flaws.
• Ensure conformance to specifications.
• Position and secure assembled mold and mold components.Insert dies into machine
• Coat dies with parting agent.
• Eliminate production of defective parts and products.
• Fill machine hoppers.
• Regulate molding temperature, volume, pressure, and time.
• Deburr Parts

ACCOUNTABILITY: Accountable to Mold Shop Supervisor.

SKILLS / ABILITIES: Must be able to meet production dead lines. Familiar with basic blue print reading preferred. Able to stand for long periods of time and lifting loads of approximately 20 pounds.

EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of experience in Mold Shop

EDUCATION/TRAINING: High School Diploma or GED preferred
