Tallahassee Nurseries is currently seeking Plant Stock Associates. Associates handle trees, shrubs, and grasses.
At Tallahassee Nurseries, associates are responsible for a variety of duties including organizing and maintaining retail displays of plants and holding areas, pricing and moving plants, helping customers locate plants, and answering questions for customers. This is a physical job, on your feet, outdoors, moving plants. Applicants must possess sufficient physical fitness to perform satisfactorily.
Duties and Responsibilities may include:
- Unloading trucks
- Labeling plants
- Moving plants to display areas and stock areas
- Cleaning display areas
- Weeding potted plants and display areas
- Actively assisting customers, helping them find plants, making suggestions
- Watering and maintaining plants
- Assisting other departments as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Reliable, punctual, and good attendance
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work outdoors in various conditions
- Ability to move/lift 40 lbs
- Ability to work a weekend day
- Ability to safely transport plants within nursery grounds using equipment like motorized scooters, or skid steers (training provided)
