This position is responsible to safely oversee the day-to-day operations of natural gas processing, compression, and pipeline facilities in CNX's North SWPA Area. This position will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot standard midstream equipment including, but not limited to pipelines, separation, dehydration, compression, stabilization, and other associated equipment. The candidate will work 12 hour shifts and may be the sole person on site at times operating a facility. This role will assist other operations personnel with system maintenance and performance enhancement operations as needed. Some supervision of contract employees and ensuring materials are available is required. This position is responsible to ensure their work and others under their guidance is completed in a safe and compliant manner. The Plant operator is responsible for continuous monitoring of all systems within the plant via SCADA and physical inspection. This role will work a 7 days on/7 days off, 12 hour, day and night shift rotation.
Target Responsibilities:
• Work safely at all times in unpredictable field and/or weather conditions and near moving vehicles and equipment.
• Working knowledge of various gas compression including 3608/3516 gas-fired and electric drive, dehydration systems, and gas processing.
• Troubleshooting based on daily operator's readings of compressors and processing equipment.
• Monitor plant operating parameters and adjust to maximize production.
• Remotely monitor operating conditions of plant production and processing.
• Recognize, anticipate, and correct abnormal and/or unusual operating conditions.
• Conduct and oversee periodic maintenance on equipment.
• Monitor and coordinate the activities of contractors and vendors and company personal.
• Communicate operational issues with coworkers and management.
• Hazard train contractors and vendors; conduct weekly safety meetings.
• Communicate all safety issues to Safety Supervisor and/or management.
• Submit purchase order requisitions for supplies and services to maintain plant operations.
• Comply with all laws, policies, and regulations.
• Maintain a work site free of environmental hazards. Promptly report adverse and/or abnormal environmental conditions.
• Maintain a clean and hazard free plant site.
• Knowledge of PSM and requirements for compliance with company and state and federal rules.
• Write and review operating procedures as requested.
Minimum Requirements:
• Must be committed to working safely and maintaining environmental excellence.
• A minimum of two years of oil and gas experience.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Must have experience with gas compression, dehydration, and pipeline operations.
• Operational knowledge of SCADA control systems.
• Must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions, shift work, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Must possess moderate computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to safely operate a company vehicle on and off road.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Dry/Wet Marcellus and Utica midstream experience.
• Possess knowledge of Federal and State laws with respect to production, SPCC, Emergency Response, PSM, OSHA, DOT Pipeline Safety and Compliance and Waste Management plans.
• Experience with condensate processing and vapor recovery/destruction systems.
• Experience with condensate stabilization.
