Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time Maintenance Welder/Fabricator Technician to join our team at Kennedy Space Center located on Merritt Island, Florida. As a Maintenance Welder/Fabricator Technician, you will perform a variety of welder duties along with building construction, roofing, carpentry, drywall, carpeting, tiling, masonry, painting, and work on gas appliances. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is the visitor center at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. - Participate in a variety of employee company, safety, and equipment operation training and certification.
- Perform maintenance operations for construction, painting and carpentry operations.
- Diagnose malfunctions, determine repairs required, and perform a range of required repairs such as replacement or repair of building or food service equipment, electrical components, controls and similar components.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including inspections and cleaning.
- Identify, prepare, cut and weld a variety of materials including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, cast iron and iron alloys using proper welding cutting techniques.
- Perform a range of electrical, mechanical and electronic checks, if qualified, along with repairs, and installations.
- Drive a company vehicle around the property to work areas.
- Must be at least 21 years old to apply.
- A minimum of five years of verifiable professional experience with MIG, TIG and stick welding is preferred.
- Experience using hand and hand power tools, machine tools, plumbing tools, generators, forklifts, man lifts, pallet jack, hydraulic lift, pumps and similar devices.
- Hold a valid Florida driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
Ability to obtain and maintain a NASA badge.
- Familiar with computerized maintenance management system to enter working hours and notes.
- Ability to wear appropriate safety PPE, such as fall protection, respirator, hearing protection, safety glasses, face shield or goggles.
- Exposure to heat, dirt, dust, noise, fumes, wetness, paint, and solvents.
- Ability to work on ladders, scaffolds, or high lift.
- Ability to read and interpret codes and blueprints.
- Abillity to lift, carry or manipulate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
