Cabot Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Logistics Representitive. This role will facilitatea shipments to and from local plants and warehouses to customer sites and warehouses. Shipments may be both domestic and international. May work in conjunction with regional Shared Services Center (SSC) or more independently.
How You Will Make an Impact: - Monitors and controls order processing for all shipments from the facility and warehouses from receiving orders through to delivery to customers, providing an efficient service and ensuring that customers’ transport and packing requirements are met. Works closely with SSC to ensure delivery of product to customers consistent with regional strategies.
- Coordinates and schedules pickup and delivery of customer orders and material deliveries. May serve as liaison with SSC in coordinating all product availability and shipment information.
- Monitors plant inventory in dispatching product; suggests product or grade substitutions from available product inventory to accommodate clients’ needs.
- Enters and maintains data in ERP system (JDE) regarding product availability and generation of shipping documentation—picking/packing lists, Certificate of Analysis, bill of lading, etc.
- May coordinate import and local holding of products produced at other facilities in the region or from outside the region. May monitor agents’ shipment documents. May prepare files for import/export documents, including export declarations, import certificates.
- Responds to customer queries and complaints regarding shipping.
- Performs duties as backup for other clerks. May require occasional work at Canal plant in Franklin.
- Ensures safe working practices, site safety rules and procedures are adhered to by all employees.
- Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.
- Understanding of warehousing, packing and shipping practices and inventory management.
- Knowledge of the shipping constraints and shipping bottleneck at the facility.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the aptitude to impact and influence all levels of employees and management, both inside the company and externally with suppliers.
Education/Experience
- High School of equivalent education.
- 1-3 years related experience
