The Starbucks experience starts in our Roasting Plants where we have a dedicated team of professional roasters and supporting process teams including planning, warehouse management, packaging, roasting, maintenance, engineering, and logistics.

As a plant lead, you will:
  • Assist supervisor in day-to-day operations and advises of task completion. Prepare for and execute routine shift turnover with cross-function leadership, shift kick-off, and shift close-out procedures.
  • Create and sustain a cohesive and positive work environment.
  • Lead and carry out daily operations tasks. Ensure team attainment of daily safety, quality, and productivity goals and standards.
  • Serve as an escalation resource for problems and issues that arise during assigned shift.
  • Ensure effective and timely communication of company, plant, and department information to partners, supervisors, and managers.
  • Provide training and coaching to team members on standard operating procedures, quality and safety procedures and regulations.
  • Recommend process improvements. Support process and business changes.
  • Support food safety, legality, and quality programs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Oversee team execution of master sanitation schedule.
  • Demonstrate and understand safety as our core value. Understand and follow established safety guidelines.
  • Act as a safety change agent (e.g. CPR/First Aid certification; active engagement in safety committee, drives safety initiatives for department).
  • Maintain product quality through adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point standards (HACCP), product specifications, and quality procedures.
  • Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values.

We’d love to hear from people with:
  • Manufacturing computerized systems or automated distribution or warehouse systems (1 year)
  • Manufacturing or distribution environment (4 years)
  • High School Diploma/GED or 4 or more years of US military service
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to follow verbal direction
  • Ability to quickly assess and prioritize the needs of a faced paced environment plant lead Starbucks Confidential

  • Ability to coach and mentor others
  • Ability to work with a diverse team environment
  • Ability to work in accordance with safety, quality and sanitation standards, policies and procedures
  • Ability to work variable shifts to support business needs
  • Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with the GFSI certification schemes (i.e. BRC and/or or SQF). (preferred)
