SalaryGolden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) is looking for an energetic individual as ourPlant Engineeras part of the Power Supply Team located in Fairbanks, Alaska. This full-time position earn a competitive starting wage of $77,594-$120,120 annually. A day in the life of a Plant Engineer can look like:
Use leadership skills to lead consulting engineers, contractors and GVEA personnel through multidisciplinary matrix organizations to complete highly technical projects that optimize overall plant performance. Ensure the coordinated efforts of the plant personnel to maintain the availability and reliability of all generating facilities in the safest and most cost effective manner possible. Have accountability for specifying materials and equipment, coordinating contract and in-house labor, instructing and advising work crews, inspecting work, meeting deadlines, and ensuring as-built documents are correct. Ensures the successful operation and maintenance of all generating facilities.
Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- Valid Alaska driver's license is required.
- Experience with power generation equipment operation and maintenance or in a related field preferred.
- Electric utility generation experience and demonstrated project management experience preferred.
