Plant Controller | $140k - $150k + 20% Bonus | Onsite w/ Occasional Flex
Location: Glendale, AZ
We are working with a leading manufacturing facility seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Controller to provide financial leadership. As a dynamic leader on the plant management team, the Plant Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, costing, inventory, and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Operations Planning:
- Participate in the development of operational objectives aligned with Corporate and Division strategic goals.
- Lead proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement, and corrective actions for optimized financial results.
- Financial and Operational Controls:
- Ensure an effective system of internal controls, including data integrity, asset protection, budgeting, and adherence to corporate policies and regulations.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Monitor the monthly closing process, prepare financial statements, and analyze variances.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, providing in-depth analysis and actionable insights.
- Driving Plant Profitability:
- Lead actions to achieve targets, mitigate risk, and prioritize resource needs.
- Provide competitive analytics, anticipate change, and drive decision-making for enhanced profitability.
- Assist in contract evaluation and negotiation.
- Inventory and Costing:
- Utilize strong standard/average costing knowledge, including cost roll and computation of labor and overhead rates.
- Ensure correct profitability reflection through setting standard costs.
- Conduct inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and excess and obsolete analysis.
- Leading and Developing Talent:
- Create an environment fostering talent development through effective performance management and talent evaluation systems.
- Act as a resource to non-financial leaders, providing education and training on key finance principles.
- Invest in the growth and development of direct reports and identified talent.

Experience and Qualifications:
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA, CMA, or CPA accreditation preferred.
- Leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with a focus on operations planning, savings, forecasting, and investment analysis.
- Demonstrated success in attracting, developing, and retaining outstanding talent.
- Extensive knowledge of standard cost accounting and variance reporting.
- Previous experience as a Plant Controller in a $100M plus organization.
- High proficiency in Excel and MRP Systems; experience with Infor LN (ERP) a plus.
