Are you a finance professional with a passion for manufacturing? We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial, accounting, and reporting activities of our manufacturing plant. This is a permanent role that offers a competitive compensation package and an opportunity to be a part of a fast-paced, high-volume environment in the agriculture manufacturing sector.
Responsibilities:
As a Plant Controller, you will be expected to:
1. Oversee all financial operations of the manufacturing plant including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
2. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulatory standards.
3. Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making processes.
4. Manage the accounting operations including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
5. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation.
8. Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems.
9. Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits.
10. Coordinate with the commodities trading team to manage risks and opportunities associated with agricultural commodities trading.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Plant Controller position should possess the following:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA is preferred.
2. Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the agriculture sector.
3. Comprehensive understanding of GAAP.
4. Proficiency in Great Plains, or similar.
5. Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
6. Strong knowledge of agricultural commodities trading is a plus.
7. Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
8. Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate direct reports.
9. Detail-oriented with an ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
10. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
