POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the activities and efficiencies of the Packing Department team.  Responsible for implementing processes for all Packing Department tasks, to maximize efficiencies, producing a quality product in a timely and cost-effective manner.  Responsible for managing all powder coat and packing area activity, including staffing levels, line set-ups, and material availability. The Packing Coordinator directs the work of Packing Leads, Production Assistant, and all other personnel in this department.

• Performs related duties as assigned by Finishing Superintendent
• Directs all activities of the Finishing department.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Ensures all products leaving the Finishing Department are top quality.
• Works with PM's

• • To suggest packaging requirements for new or older products, to maximize packing efficiencies, both off the powder coat lines and packing lines.
  • To review manufacturing orders and suggest changes to packing operation cards.

• Work with both Powder Coat and Packing Leads on packing schedule and respective priorities
• Assist line Leads with material issues.
• Work in concert with PM's, DE's, Shipping and QA to resolve quality or other issues related to materials or product.
• Responsible for overseeing efficient packing line set ups.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Develop packing personnel to operate safely, efficiently and ensure they are pursing a good level of continuous improvement.
• Attend paint and pack meetings.

• Keep a high-level communication with Master Scheduler and ensure execution per the schedule.

   

   

   

Qualifications: 

• Must have at least three years of management or supervisory experience.
• College degree in business management, operations management, production control, or equivalent degree preferred.
• Requires the ability to practically apply knowledge in manufacturing methods and processes, machine utilization, supervision, administration, safety, engineering processes, material routing and handling, shipping, quality control and cost accounting.
• Requires excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, non-defensively resolving conflicts between people. 
• Requires skill in writing clearly and understandably.
• Ability to delegate responsibility when appropriate. 
• Requires the ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively.
• Work effectively under pressure and time deadlines.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

• Analyze problems (not just symptoms), propose reasonable solutions, make logical decisions, carry out decisions made and follow up with feedback where appropriate.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to operate a computer, calculator, and various measuring tools.
• Microsoft Office proficiency is preferred.

Monday through Friday 5:45am to 2:15 pm
