Plant Accountant Job Description:
Develop and maintain accounting systems for the company by maintaining books of accounts and related materials, as well as managing the day-to-day financial matters. Prepare financial records, analyze costs, create standard operating procedures, prepare and present management reports and metrics.
- Collect and organize cost information into a database of expenses.
- Construct systems to accumulate and monitor data.
- Determine and calculate formulas for fixed and variable costs.
- Plan budgets and prepare reports for multiple departments within a company.
- Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Review receipts and compare with actual charges to detect inaccuracies and variances.
- Project profit margins and cash flow for upcoming periods.
- Prepare financial forecasts for monthly, quarterly and annual operating schedules.
- Analyze month-end and year-end reports to identify and recommend cost-effective improvements.
- Prepare various journal entries to maintain the company's books of accounts.
- Maintain companywide records for fixed assets or liabilities.
- Manage day to day cash management operations internally as well as in coordination with financial institutions.
- Oversee reconciliation of bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Prepare all financial reports and statements as required to comply with internal/external reporting requirements on computer.
- Review all accounts receivable statements.
- Perform year-end closing and balancing procedures in accordance with approved procedures.
- Perform all daily and monthly duties related to cash balance, general ledger and month closing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- 10+ years of accounting work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with accounting software programs and MRP systems.
- Computer literacy skills, especially with MS Excel and MS Office. Basic data entry and computation.
- Analytical skills with a keen sense of organization and detail.
- Proven time management skills and ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Respect for confidentiality of information laws and local ethics.
- Expertise in activity-based costing for fixed and variable costs in relation to the overall direct cost of a line of products.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $91,000.00 per year
