Job description

Job Summary & Essential Functions

Coordinate, complete, and resolve all accounting transactions and activities to assist with the safe guarding of company assets; reporting of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with company policy and in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and GAAP.

  • Compute and prepare financial and statistical reports, prepare report analyses, and make recommendations resulting from the analyses
  • Recommend and/or provide instruction on processes to maintain the most accurate and efficient transactions
  • Lead accounts payable, accounts receivable and daily cash activities to keep transactions and work flow current
  • Prepare supporting documentation and journal entries as required for month end close
  • Prepare account reconciliations for general ledger accounts
  • Participate with the month end closing process for cash, AR, AP, inventory, general accounting activities, and sales, bookings and backlog
  • Coordinate accounting matters and participate in process development with other departments and employees
  • Maintain/monitor fixed asset acquisitions and capital expenditure data to ensure compliance
  • Prepare the weekly cash forecast to assist management with cash decisions
  • Generate requests for wire transfers
  • Provide backup support for AP, AR, and cost analyst as needed
  • Organize the filing and reference systems pertinent to general and cost accounting activities

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Intermediate level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems, preferably Syteline
  • Strong analytical skills including research, trend analysis, data analysis, and presentation of data through charts and graphs
  • Strong decision-making skills; utilizing sound judgement and thorough processes
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects and assignments to meet established goals and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a high volume, high detail work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with all levels of the organization and customers
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality products and results
  • Ability to initiate projects and tasks as required to fulfill goals and deadlines
  • Ability to be creative and innovative with solutions, problem resolution and product/ project assignments

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 2 years of relevant job experience preferred
