Planning and Placement Team (PPT) Secretary - Full-Time (1.0)
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Student and Staff Support
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Acts as administrative assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of Student and Staff Support. Priority is given to any task that is requested by the Assistant Superintendent. This position requires initiative, ability to work independently or as a team, and analytical thinking. The position relies heavily on deadlines and state and federal compliance and requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Special Education:
● Maintain Special Education Student list and historical hard file
● Coordinate the scheduling of PPT Meetings
● Review documentation for compliance and finalization
● Keep current on State Special Education requirements for IEP, procedural safeguards, and reporting timelines
● Update staff on state requirements pertaining to Special Education and IEP process
● Instruct new staff and update staff as needed with CT-SEDS IEP software revisions and updates
● Develop and maintain the Special Education resource folder
● Maintain records with PSIS District Coordinator
● Create Special Education reports as needed
● Maintain Special Education records for 6 years
● Responsible for inputting data for state reporting in relation to Special Education (SEDAC, CSDE BSE, PSIS)
● Ability to work with faculty, parents, and students in a professional manner
● Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter
● Possess multi-tasking skills and adjust schedule as needs dictate.
● Perform other duties as assigned by the Administration.

Proficient in the following:
● Computer literate (Google Apps and PowerSchool experience preferred)
