Job Summary
MnDOT does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.
This position will contribute to the development of integrated transportation plans, studies, and investment programs; coordinate with and participate in state, regional and local planning efforts; and prepare and implement public involvement processes. This position defines scope, objectives, risk and analysis in the preparation of statewide, district, modal, system, corridor, and project plans and studies, as well as in the implementation and monitoring of investments in the transportation program.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of professional transportation planning experience.
(*NOTE: A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, Political Science substitutes for one year of experience.)
Experience must also demonstrate the following:
  • Experience in applying the theory and practice of planning, civil engineering, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience applying the theory and practice of public engagement.
  • Experience interpreting and applying state and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.
  • Experience preparing and making presentations to others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Communications, Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, or Political Science.
  • Experience in applying the theory and practice of transportation planning.
