Piping Designer

MECA Engineering is seeking a pipe designer with four or more years of 3D piping design experience. The successful candidate with develop drawings in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practices and have a working knowledge of process piping and piping systems (P&IDs) (PFDs) Piping Material Specifications and value and instrumentation types and uses.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Perform required field work to layout equipment, determine optimum pipe routing and identify any interferences or issues which may affect project goals.
• Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
• Knowledge of project budgeting and operating within budget and schedule constrains plans, facilitates, or conduct 3D model design reviews.
• Working closely with our clients, architects, and engineers, as well as, with design team members to produce high quality detail designs and drawings.
• Must have experience with Mechanical piping design, P&IDs, Pipe Supports, Pumps, Instrumentation.
• Perform difficult and complex design calculations.

Qualifications:

• Engineering course work or Associates Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of multi-discipline project design execution and construction sequence.
• Proficient in computer-aided drafting (CAD) using AutoCAD.
• Proven experience as a Piping Designer in a relevant industry or sector for at least 2 to 5 years.
• Candidate should have a general knowledge of industrial equipment such as valve types, pump types, exchangers, etc.
• Strong time management and organizational skills as an independent contributor.
