Piping Designer

TSR has a Piping Designer position available with one of the largest EPC firms in the country. This is a long-term contract position in Memphis, TN.
Duties & Responsibilities 

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Perform the necessary fieldwork, pulling measurements, locating tie-ins, as-built existing systems, develop detailed scopes of work.
• Work from P&ID's, client specifications and vendor data to design complex piping/mechanical/structural systems for food manufacturing facility. 
• Will be working in a 2D and environments to create pipe layouts, isometrics, pipe peripherals, sanitary tubing, sanitary tubing peripherals, conveyors, spouts, transitions, pipe supports and platforms
• Ensures that completed design is functional, maintainable and designed with safety and that all applicable codes have been followed and maintain 
• Interface with other disciplines 

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, Tech Certificate or Degree Preferred,
• Knowledgeable in the design and layout of process piping and equipment
•  Piping Design Experience is Mandatory. Previous hands on piping experince (sketcher. pipe fitter or welder etc.)
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D,
• AutoCAD Plant 3D , 3D Modeling experience a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Must have extensive fieldwork experience
• Some work may require working at heights above 6 feet, climbing stairs, ladders and scaffolding.
• 4+ years' experience in the design and layout of process piping and equipment in an industrial food manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

• Work is located at a food manufacturing plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes
• Work requires using and wearing personal protective equipment such as hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots
• Day-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20lbs frequently
• Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up multiple flights of stairs
