Summary:


The Pipeline Locator is responsible for maintaining and protecting their area of coverage of company assets while following corporate policies and insuring that safe work and environmental procedures are followed. This position is based at our Godley Plant, located in North Texas. The Pipeline Locator is a key component in ensuring that the area of coverage is operating safely and with maximum efficiency.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:

  • Obtain OQ qualifications to mark underground facilities and process one call tickets in adherence to state laws, and company procedures.
  • Conduct line patrols, respond to one calls, and witness line crossings and excavations.
  • Read and utilize drawings, schematics, alignment sheets and P&ID drawings.
  • Support call out/on call requirements.
  • Maintain compliance records and documentation to meet state and federal requirements as well as company procedures.
  • Assist in maintenance activities in the ROW, meter station, and future compressor stations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required education or minimum level:

  • Associated degree in natural gas or related field preferred
  • High school diploma or GED

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • Level C requires a minimum of 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
  • Level B requires a minimum of 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
  • Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 4+ years line locating in industry, preferred
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Petris Software

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Driving, walking, and standing frequently
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
  • Working extended hours required in emergencies, on projects, or outages.
