Pipefitter/Welder

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Technologist to join our team located in Tonawanda, NY. The Technologist will be responsible for the overall maintenance of mechanical equipment & mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Oversees location's Process Safety Mechanical Integrity Program

Assists in the development and review fabrication drawings.

Oversees and/or performs new equipment installations

Follow safe working practices and Utilizes hand and portable power tools and follows safe working practices through all steps of equipment fabrication, repair, and maintenance.

Coordinates and oversees the movement of materials and equipment as required

Collaborate on site with execution of Contractor Safety Program

Other duties as defined

Qualifications

Knowledge of cutting and welding methods,

Ability to understand blueprints, and experience with tools and equipment used on the job.

Knowledge of high-pressure piping systems.

Ability to build equipment and small piping systems.

Bachelor of Science strongly preferred; high school diploma/GED required.

5 - 10 years of equipment maintenance experience in chemical manufacturing setting preferred

Knowledgeable in OSHA Process Safety Management Program elements including Mechanical Integrity, Management of Change, Operating Procedure Elements

Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Valid welding license

Additional preferred skills

· Knowledge of health and safety guidelines when dealing with dangerous equipment or chemicals

· Good numerical and problem-solving skills

· Attention to detail.

· Strong communication skills

· Basis Computer skills - Microsoft applications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.83 - $31.11 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
