Pipe Yard Associate

Plumbers Supply Co, a family-owned business celebrating 103 years in 2024, has an immediate opening for a Pipe Yard Associate to join our Louisville Branch located at 4420 Bishop Lane.

Schedule is Monday-Friday 1st Shift (with possible required overtime)(hrs can be subject to change)

The Pipe Yard Associate works as part of a team that is expected to do the following:

• Receive and stock incoming pipe shipments. Put away pipe bundles in proper bin locations as required.
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Interpret packing slips, key entry of applicable information into ERP system is required.
• Pick, check, bundle and load pipe on customer vehicles, delivery trucks and transfer trucks as needed.
• Ensure orders are picked accurately and completely.
• Able to operate forklift and other materials handling equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized Pipe Yard that is safe & accessible for salespeople, customer traffic and employees.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• 1-2 years of previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Expert Forklift Skills required.
• Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• An ability to function well as part of a team
• Diligent attention to detail
• Diligent attention to safety
• Ability to perform simple math calculations and perform basic computer operations
• Courteous, cooperative, respectful, presenting a professional appearance when interacting with internal and external customers
• Must have good spatial awareness to fit different size loads on different types of trucks
• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to more than 75 lbs with assistance.
• Must be able to lift inventory overhead for stocking and removing items located on upper shelves
• Able to work in inclement weather
