This position requires a self-motivated, competent individual with a high energy level who is able to work alone and with others in a shop/field environment. Job duties would include assisting field pipe fitters by welding various sizes of pipe.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to fabricate, weld, solder, and install pipe, tubing, miter and fabricate all pipe
- install valves
- install underground pipe
- install pipe hangers and supports
- install steam
- install copper piping
- use beveling machine
- test piping systems
- oxygen and acetylene cutting
- basic rigging
- operation of pneumatic and electric tools
Skills needed from the Ideal Candidate:
- Five years pipe welding and fitting experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, ISO’s, field installations, material takeoffs, field sketches, and understand specifications
- Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical and logical reasoning skills
- Completed welds should be neat in appearance and to code: B31.1
- Strong verbal and written communications skills

- Must have the ability to travel to job sites and occasionally have overnight stays
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, kneel, climb, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs
- Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Have hand tools
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test in accordance to our Company Substance Abuse Policy
- Must be able to pass a post-employment fitness test
