Overview
The Pipe & Fitting Inspector II will work under the general direction of the Quality Control Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the quality of products on various production lines while employing various inspection methods and tools. This role involves identifying and addressing defects promptly, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with different departments that uphold the quality standards produced by the Tyler Pipe foundry plant.

Responsibilities
Visually inspect products on production lines during assigned shifts, emphasizing defect diagnosis and interception at the machine where possible. This is to include all epoxy coating processes, including Pipe and Fittings.
Check products for quality in epoxy coating, asphalt coating for Pipe and Fittings, as well as pipe stenciling, and other quality control requirements.
Perform inspection at the end of process lines by taking random samples, checking for conformance to quality standards regarding weight, length, tolerances, dimensions, and general appearance.
Inspect Pipe and Fitting products using calipers, go and no-go gauges, micrometers, scales, and various measuring instruments.
Record daily measurements into Quality Drive for proper record keeping.
Learn and conduct various quality control related testing requirements for epoxy coated product line and record those findings in the QC System.
Periodically required to inspect and process customer returns, referring products needing rework to the appropriate area.
Follow through with proper paperwork to ensure product is credited or scrapped as needed.
Assist in Salvage Area/Re-Workshop to ensure proper workflow and follow up on Quality within that department.
Assist in pipe air testing in the Akers Mill Room and document results.
Assist in audits conducted by Tyler Pipe's various product listing agencies.
Fill in as needed in other Quality related areas and cover for vacations as required.
Apply diverse product knowledge to enhance inspection processes.
Prepare various inspection reports and epoxy testing results as requested.
Demonstrate a dedication to safety by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering and working in the plant.
Keep work area clean, safe, and orderly.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as required under the direction of the Quality Manager.
Qualifications
Ability to work with hands.
Forklift certification is required.
AX (Microsoft Dynamics AX) knowledge is a plus.
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Strong communication skills to effectively report and document inspection results.
Ability to collaborate with various departments and follow up on corrective actions.
Willingness to adapt and fill in various roles within the Quality department.
Proven ability to operate measuring instruments and gauges accurately.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and always follow safety rules/procedures.
Excellent attendance and punctuality.
