PICKING & PACKING ASSOCIATE
School Health Corporation is seeking a Picking & Packing Associate for our distribution center in Alsip, IL. School Health is a leading distributor of physical education supplies to school districts, park districts, and Special Olympics programs throughout the United States. The position is located in our Warehouse in Alsip, Illinois.
This position is responsible for picking and packing customer orders in a Distribution Center. This is a seasonal position and does not include benefits but may become a permanent position for the right employee. Our shift hours are 8:00am until 4:00pm and overtime, including Saturdays, may be required.
Responsibilities include:
- Use a mobile scanning device to to pull customer orders.
- Verify correct items are pulled for orders based on description and quantity.
- Place completed orders in picking carts for delivery to packing stations.
- Select right size shipping carton and packing materials to pack out order.
- Confirm pulled items for accuracy and attach packing slip.
- Create item kits when required for orders.
- Meet daily productivity goals.
- Clean up work areas at end of shift.
- Assist other departments/functions as needed.
Basic Requirements:
- Ability to work Monday-Friday (or Saturday) some weekends, and overtime will be required based on business needs.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Ability to stay on feet and walk for long periods of time.
Work Environment
- Work in a warehouse environment throughout seasonal temperature variations.
- Use of proper safety procedures to ensure workplace safety.
Experience: Previous warehouse experience preferred but not required.
