SalaryThe Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, part of the Jefferson Health network, is currently seeking a mid to senior level clinician to focus on benign and malignant hematology. This individual will join our community hematology/oncology division at Jefferson Abington Hospital located in Abington, PA.
The Department of Medical Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University and the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (SKCC) welcome applications from board certified medical oncologists and hematologists interested in providing community-based clinical care in classical and malignant hematology in an academic health care system. The ideal candidate will have practiced in an academic or academically oriented community-based site and have experience in clinical operations and/or quality improvement in classical or malignant hematology, exhibit strong clinical inpatient and outpatient care skills, the ability to engage learners, engage in cancer clinical research and collaborate in a hybrid medical system.
This candidate will have clinical responsibilities at Jefferson Abington Hospital in Abington, PA and the Asplundh Cancer Pavilion in Willow Grove, PA, and be a faculty member in the division of hematology/oncology at Jefferson Abington Hospital as well. They will participate in the weekly virtual Enterprise Heme Malignancy Tumor Board and in the SKCC Heme Malignancies clinical trial Multidisciplinary Group. In addition, they will have access to virtual clinical and research conferences, such as the monthly Molecular Tumor Board and Heme Malignancy Research Conference.
Jefferson Abington Hospital and the Asplundh Cancer Pavilion are part of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Cancer Center and a leader in cancer treatment and research. Jefferson/Abington Hospital has approximately 2,500 new cancer patients/year and there are ~3000 new outpatient consultations in hematology and oncology per year at Asplundh Cancer Pavilion. Asplundh Cancer Pavilion has a 12 physician and 5 NP hematology/oncology practice and integrated clinical practices in gyn oncology, radiation oncology, and surgical oncology. There is a 36 chair infusion center, clinical trials staff, social work, nutrition, and navigation support for patients and providers. There is a robust collaborative CAR-T/cellular therapy and BMT program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital with ongoing development of this program at Asplundh.
