Essential Functions:
1) Evaluate whether donors are suitable to donate blood plasma. Review donor medical history, health assessment, and laboratory test results. Counsel donors regarding reactive test results. Explain informed consent to new donors
2) Provide limited emergency care to donors when needed, including administration of medication and treatments in accordance with license and certification
3) Ensure accurate record keeping. Answer medical questions from staff. Consult with Center Medical Director for medical guidance
4) Maintain clean, efficient work environment. Follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures
5) Maybe cross-trained in other areas. Perform other job-related duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Must maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of New Jersey. Must maintain current CPR certification
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking. Reach, bend, kneel and have high level of manual dexterity. Frequently exposed to blood borne pathogens. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks
