Form of workPhysician - Obstetrics & Gynecology SITE OF SERVICE : + Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD + Full Time POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS: + Degree/Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). + Degree as Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the U.S. or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body.
Graduates of foreign medical schools practicing in the U.S. are required to possess both a medical license and certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMGP) or Fifth Pathway. Physician will have successfully completed an Undergraduate Program, Medical School (M.D.
or D.O.), Internship, and Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. + Internship/Residency: + Physician will have successfully completed an Undergraduate Program, Medical School (M.D. or D.O.), Internship, and Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
+ Board Certification: Shall be board certified or board eligible by the Americano Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and maintain professional credentials in accordance with regulations of the ABPN. + Additional Certifications: Must have the following hands-on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross + Basic Life Support (BLS) + Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) + AWHONN Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and ECO (Emergencies in Clinical Obstetrics + Experience: Shall have been actively practicing in inpatient/outpatient, full spectrum, OB/GYN for at least 3 of the past 4 years. + Licensure/Registration: + Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine + Active DEA + U.S.
Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen + English Language Requirement: Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with all patients and other health care providers. + Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract .
HOURS: + The Contract HCW shall provide services for no more than 80 hours per two-week period to include primarily weeknights and occasional weekends. Schedules will be determined by the Obstetrics and Gynecology department in coordination with the employee and assignments will be based on a 14-hour labor and delivery shift starting at 1800 through sign-out at 0730. Services will occasionally be required on observance of the federal holidays.
Staffing hours may be modified to account for specific needs within the Department to meet mission requirements. + Labor and delivery shift begins at 1800 and continue through checkout at 0730. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team-work skills required.
Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
