ResponsibilitiesAscension Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician practice, is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a group of 5 established surgeons performing over 1200 adult cardiac cases annually. Our group performs all aspects of adult cardiac surgery including minimally invasive valve surgery, endovascular and open aortic surgery, trans-catheter valve implantation, mechanical circulatory support, and cardiac transplantation.
Practice/Position Highlights:
Practice provides cardiac surgical services at two Ascension sites in the Indianapolis Indiana area, Ascension Heart Center & Ascension Indianapolis. Both locations have dedicated operating rooms for cardiac surgery.
Cardiac Surgeons are supported by a highly skilled team of APP’s.
The Ascension network includes one of the nation’s largest cardiology practices with offices throughout the state that support the surgical program.
The position requires an American Board of Thoracic Surgery certified surgeon with demonstrated excellence in adult cardiac surgery.
Active VAD and Transplant program with the highest volumes in the state.

Required Credential(s):
• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Preferred Credential(s):
• Advanced Life Support.
Education:
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Optometry (OD) or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) required.
